Brief Introduction
I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at Seoul National University located in Seoul, South Korea. I received my PhD degree in the Department of Communication at Michigan State University, USA. Previously, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
As a researcher, I investigate (1) the effects of digital technologies on human communication (e.g., the effects of video chat on conflict resolution and collaboration, the effects of social media on impression formation, the effect of AI-mediation on communication outcomes), and (2) the effects of digital technologies on information processing (e.g., online misinformation and disinformation acceptance and dispersion, the effects of factors that determine the power of online product and service reviews) using web-based and lab-based experiments.
As a teacher, I teach communication theories, computer-mediated communication, interpersonal communication, persuasion, and quantitative communication methods.
I welcome undergraduate & graduate students who are interested in the research topics stated above.
